Maggi Noodles Tested for Too Much MSG and Lead: Doctors Respond

Maggi has always been the king of instant noodles in India and enjoyed the biggest share of the instant noodles market: as high as 90 percent in 2010 and according to latest reports, stands at 60-65 percent. How has it come so far? Besides the fact that it's absolutely delicious, it has also evolved over the years. A few years ago, when consumers complained that Maggi was all maida, Nestle quickly responded with a bunch of healthy variants: oats, multigrain and even atta! They said their products were high in both fibre and calcium, making them healthy snacking options.

The scariest thing about consuming lead even in higher quantities is that you won't feel sick immediately. The symptoms will manifest overtime and you'll know how much damage has been done only later. European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) explains what too much lead found in food can do to you- "absorbed lead is transported in the blood and then transferred to soft tissues, including liver and kidneys, and to bone tissue, where it accumulates with age.
